A new parking lot has been built downtown to address the parking needs of
downtown businesses. The lot is off of Jefferson Street between Lafayette
and Jackson streets. A lighted walkway/tunnel has been built between the
new parking lot and Main Street, near the Starkville Cafe. The lot was
officially opened during a ceremony on Saturday, September 19, 1997.
